The unscrupulous pirate Mad Jack blundered through one misadventure after another. Together with Snuk, his dim-witted rat sidekick, Jack sailed the seas on his rented ship the Sea Chicken, seeking ill-gotten fortune. Plying the tools of his trade — namely, highway robbery, underhanded cheating and devious premeditated skullduggery — Mad Jack nevertheless excelled only at the art of failing spectacularly. Without fail, karma ensured Jack’s only reward was a giant helping of bad luck.

Mad Jack the Pirate aired for one season of thirteen episodes. Most of the half-hour episodes contained two, 10-minute stories, for a total of twenty-three stories.
