The Adventures of Superboy followed the exploits of a teenage Clark Kent growing up in rural Smallville. As Superboy, Clark worked to refine the same super powers he would later employ as Superman. A similarly powered, canine companion Krypto, joined Superboy in his juvenile adventures. Stories also featured Clark’s first girlfriend, Lana Lang, who was one of the few characters in the Superman saga to consistently suspect the connection between a disappearing Clark Kent and a conveniently appearing Superboy, although she never followed up on her suspicion.
Superboy’s 7-minute adventures originally aired as the middle segment on the half-hour show The New Adventures of Superman. A year later, Superboy joined his older self and Aquaman when they became the featured segments on the hour-long show, The Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure.
